Summer Craft: Friendship Bracelets

This summer I taught the girls how to make friendship bracelets.  It was a great way to spend the time riding the train, listening to books read aloud and watching summer movies:

Phoebe mastered the what one friend called “Chinese Ladder” technique, and Lolly and I have mastered a two-handed (one of hers, one of mine) striped technique.  Once on a train a man called our art: Boondoggle.  I prefer: Friendship Bracelet.

  1. Good work girls! For a man to notice or call the bracelets anything is not too shabby. He probably learned boondoggle in scout camp as a boy. Friendship bracelets are great for teaching eye/hand coordination and confidence. Boondoggle teaches the same thing but is showy faster.
