What do you do when you are so far away and a friend has been hit by a car and is recovering from major brain injuries?
Well, I do what I always do. I take to the needles. When I saw this for sale at Vogue Knitting Live, I knew I needed to knit it for Cecillie, who is of Norwegian Viking Heritage. Of course I swapped out the yellow in the kit for her trademark red hair. I sent it to her yesterday in the mail with my picture too. I know she will not know who knit it for her.
She has made a lot of progress (points to yes or no, or signals with her hands, points to objects she recognizes, points to pictures of her kids) since I first wrote about her, and I continue to pray for her whenever I take to my knees. Her journey is long.
What a great gift,,,, very thoughtful… I hope she gets well soon!
