Crochet: Frame Cozy

Phoebe made notecards inspired by this etsy listing,  for her classmates.  She used USED books we bought off of amazon, of Babar and Zephir.  We had extra pages, so I thought it would be fun if the cast signed a page to give to the director.

I visited his office and someone else had had a similar idea, as I saw another illustration from the book framed on his wall, from the last time he did the show.  The competitive girl in me had to improve upon that, so I followed through having the kids sign it, and then I made a frame cozy out of materials I used for the costumes.

I am quite pleased with the results:

I learned a lot making this, so I am ready to cozify our family portrait frames. (Seen here in the far right square).  I think if you crochet a fairly flexible stitch and perhaps connect it to make a circle, you can stretch it over the frame.  For this one I pulled the glue gun out, but found it stretched around a bit…I’m thinking the yarn-bombers know how to do this without the glue gun!

Today I am here for bacon brunch and then here, which means I’m in heaven.

  1. Oh I love every part of it. A great gift for her friends!

  2. Can you supply a pattern?

No! It’s just improvised! Just chain a length that seems to fit the frame and I around! I used a combo of single, double and triple and a variety of yarns.

I’m on the go – excuse the typos!
