This past weekend Phoebe turned 8 and was baptized on her birthday. She was so excited about the fact that her birthday and baptism could be the same day.
We were thrilled and stunned at the outpouring of love and support for her on this special day: congregation members, school classmates, co-workers, extended family, distant relatives, and even our family hair dresser and his wife attended!
Kids from her school and primary class sang a song and played a violin duet, and following the baptismal ceremony we all celebrated at a reception in her honor. The weekend was incredibly stressful for me on many levels and I was not my most gracious self, but when it finally turned 5 pm on Sunday evening, I was fully present and enjoyed this memorable experience for a few hours.
Those were special moments that we feel blessed to have witnessed. You managed it all, and it was a success.
It was such a beautiful event! I am so glad we could be there.
